Remove background from screenshot

Drop in any screenshot and get a transparent PNG of the main subject. Useful for tutorials, slide decks, and how-to graphics that need a clean cutout of a UI element or person. The transparent PNG also embeds cleanly in documentation tools that re-flow images across light and dark themes.

How it works

Three steps. Two seconds.

01

Pick your image

Drop in a JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 10 MB. Works on phone, tablet, or laptop.

02

AI removes the background

Our model trims the subject in about two seconds. No queue, no signup, no upsell.

03

Download the transparent PNG

Get a PNG with a transparent background, ready to drop into any design, slide, or template.

What people use it for

One tool, many jobs

Pick the use case closest to what you need.

Tutorial graphics

Pull a UI element from a screenshot and place it on a clean background with annotations. Reads cleaner than a full screen grab. Help articles and onboarding flows convert better when each screenshot focuses the reader on a single element instead of the whole window.

Slide decks

Drop transparent screenshot subjects into branded slide templates so the deck reads as one cohesive piece instead of a string of screen grabs. Investor decks and customer-facing presentations both benefit from this kind of unified visual treatment.

Product comparisons

Stack transparent UI cutouts side by side for clean before/after or feature comparisons in a blog post or doc. Comparison content tends to rank well in search, and clean transparent screenshots make those posts much easier to skim.

FAQ

Quick answers

Everything worth knowing about the background remover.

Yes, though results vary. The model is photo-trained, so it sometimes treats a UI block as a single "subject." For complex UI, a manual crop may still be faster. For simpler cards, modals, and isolated controls, the automatic cutout is usually good enough to ship.

The model picks the most prominent subject. If you need both, crop the screenshot into two pieces and run each through the tool separately. Combining the two transparent results in your editor afterward gives you the same composition you would have gotten in a single pass.

For sharp UI edges, the alpha mask softens slightly, usually invisible at presentation size. For pixel-perfect work, prefer a manual crop in any image editor. Soft edges are an advantage for natural subjects and a slight disadvantage for crisp UI rectangles.

JPEG, PNG, and WebP for input. The output is always a transparent PNG so you can layer it over any background.

Yes. iPhone, iPad, and Android browsers are fully supported. The processing happens on our server, so device memory is not a constraint.

Yes. The tool only modifies your image, you keep the rights you had to the original. Make sure you have permission for the source photo.

About two seconds per image once a server is warm. A request after a long idle period can take up to 30 seconds for the model to spin back up.
