By accessing or using videocaptions.ai ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
videocaptions.ai is an AI-powered caption generator that transcribes audio and video files using cloud-based speech-to-text services, and lets you style and export captions burned into an MP4. The Service supports 30+ languages. Editing and export run in your browser; transcription is processed on our servers.
You retain full ownership of all content you process through the Service. When you use cloud transcription, your audio is temporarily uploaded to our cloud infrastructure and sent to a third-party speech-to-text provider for processing. Audio files are automatically deleted from our servers after transcription is complete. We do not use your content for training, advertising, or any purpose other than providing the Service to you.
An account (via Clerk authentication) is required to use certain features, including video export. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

The Service, its interface, and underlying software are owned by videocaptions.ai and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use our trademarks or branding.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that transcription results will be accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, videocaptions.ai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of — or inability to use — the Service.
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify beta users by email of material changes.
