Words on screen: show captions two, three or four words at a time

Your captions stay whole, they just appear in short groups that break where you pause. Set it for the whole video or one caption in the Caption tab.

Two or three words at a time in bold white, cut in time with your voice, with the key words in yellow. Comes in three more finishes.

Fonts are no longer hidden by language. The picker tells you which font your language's letters will use.

They looked correct in the editor and came out wrong in the finished video. Every one of those languages now has a font that carries its letters, in the editor and in the export.

The language step grew a fourth card once you had picked a language before

Retime words on the timeline instead of in a popover

A Clips and Words toggle fills the strip with the current clip's words, and the strip follows the playhead, so you move between clips by scrubbing.

Dragging a word start moves the words after it

Most words had no room to move on their own, so a drag did nothing. Hold Alt to move one word only.

Captions fade out instead of cutting off

The fade now uses whatever silence the clip has, so it is smooth on a short clip and a long one. Before, a clip a couple of frames too short got no fade at all.

Captions leave the screen sooner instead of hanging over the next shot

The first word of a clip could not be retimed

Splitting a clip on its first word left two clips on the same frame, and merging clips ran them over the next one

Merging or splitting a clip kept the old caption layout instead of laying it out again

A caption preview kept animating after you picked it

Pauses trim from either edge, like clips

Cmd+click leaves a little breathing room first, then removes the pause. A run of pauses can be collapsed in one action.

Retakes are found automatically after transcription

The button is now a re-run rather than the first step.

Re-opening the same file costs no transcription

The transcript is kept locally and matched by the audio itself.

New colours for the Pocket and Upper Dynamic templates

Pocket is now white, Upper Dynamic gets an electric blue highlight, and the look that used to be called Electric Blue is now Lime Punch.

Chips containing a cut ran under their neighbours, and ctrl or pinch zoom did nothing.

You are now charged by the length of the video instead of a flat price per video.

This affected audio-only projects and any caption over the black bars. Soft edges now export the way they look in the editor.

An export could be reported as failed while it was still running

Checking progress too often got the check refused, and the export gave up. It now waits longer and allows a few refusals.
